Assuming they are in their

Assuming they are in their primes:

Melo over T-Mac: Melo is just a little more physical and the slightly better 1 on 1 scorer

Smith over Manu: Manu is the better player, but Smith just can hit crazy shots and has even more ability to score when locked in

Rose over Curry: Curry could win by getting hot from downtown, but Rose just could get to the rack at will

Pierce over Durant: I know this might be controversial, but Durant is better when he can catch on the move. Pierce just has great footwork scoring 1 on 1

Dirk over KG: KG's defense would help, but Dirk just is the better scorer. And Dirk has put up some huge games on KG in the past.

I got Mac over Melo, Mac was

I got Mac over Melo, Mac was quicker and had a dawg ass handle and his athleticism and length would cause problems for Melo, and plus Melo plays no D! Mac all day.

Smith over Manu

Rose over Curry

Pierce over Durant

Dirk over KG

Manu would destroy JR Smith

Manu would destroy JR Smith in their prime....Manu is on of the most underrated players in history.

In Prime

T-Mac over Melo. If they play 10 games, I say T-Mac wins six of them; it's a really close contest. I just feel like T-Mac had a more consistent time getting into the "zone" in his prime than Melo has shown thus far into his career. When Melo actually gives a damn on defense AND is in the zone though? He stands a great chance to win against any player.

Smith over Manu. Manu isn't an iso player and I'm not sure he'd be able to keep up with Smith. But you give both of them the same player and Manu would win almost everytime (in other words, if you cloned Dwight and he paired up with each guy, Manu/Dwight would win; he can use his craftiness in that type of setting)

Curry over Rose. Similar to the first match-up as this one is close to 50/50 for me. I think Curry wins though because he can get his shot off anywhere on the court and has above-average defensive principals. This would probably be my favorite match-up to watch simply because it could go either way.

Durant over Pierce. While I love Pierce's nagging defense and ability to hit big shots (except against my team, then I dislike him), I think Durant has the length to bother Pierce on the offensive end. If Durant can do that, then he has a great chance because he is money on the offensive end as everyone knows. Simply comes down to who can overcome the other player's defensive advantages, and I think Durant does that.

KG over Dirk. Dirk is possibly the best shooter ever at his size, but Garnett is his prime is simply a different beast. While he definitely is known more for his defense than offense, KG was a beast at both ends of the court for most of his time in Minny. So Dirk will probably make his fair share of circus shots that he seems to always make, but I'll count on the guy who was a monster rebounder, efficient scorer, and defensive beast.

thanks for all responses. Im speaking in their prime of course. I asked this question because I've always believed that Pierce at his best could win almost any one on one matchup. Bigmac, I enjoyed your breakdown.
