'09 vs.'10

Its very disappointing to see the Knicks stuck with a garbage pick this year and no pick next year. This year you'd be lucky to draft a good role player at 8 and next year you could get a star. The way I see it, the only sure-fire all-star is Griffin who probably not be there perennially. Next years draft is loaded will projected all-stars like; Wall, Aminu, Monroe, Davis, Favors, Henry, Ebanks, and Cousins. Plus good upperclassmen like Patterson, Collins, Daye, Varnado, James, Smith, Aldrich and Daye. NBA teams should be giving away stock in this draft for anything next year. My only hope is that the Knicks can trade the expiring contracts that we're wasting on trying to get Lebron for picks in 2010. I predict the 2010 draft will be the strongest since 2003.

Share your thoughts on the strength of next years draft and your hopes for your teams.

I like Curry and this draft

I like Curry and this draft is not weak. Why do people say that year after year because there are no big names. There are a lot of quality skilled people that we do well in the league. There is no way a guy who scored like Curry does not do well in the league especially with having a quick release and a high b ball IQ. No matter what league Curry plays in if he can get his shot off he will be deadly. Also his shoot will open up thing for the many slashers that New York have. People underestimate this line up. They have a lot of quality players still who can put up number if they are given the minutes. Also you have a lot of guys who are going to be playing for a contract in a system that they can all get numbers in. This year the Knicks could have 40 wins easy.

I agree the Knicks will win

I agree the Knicks will win around 40 games this year and continue to improve but I dont think the pieces we have now can ever be made into a champion contender. There were 4 individuals in the league who averaged more blocks than the knicks as a whole last year. Duhon is a backup point. Lee is beloved but undersized and a little weak on D. Harrington is a good player but he is as only good as the 3rd or 4th best player on a championship team. I love Chandler and he is getting better but he isnt a go-to guy. Nate is gone and he didnt play D anyways. Jeffries cant make a layup. Gallinari showed promise but is already falling apart physically. Hughes is gone next year and still throws up alot of bricks and seems to have lost that defensive intensity he had in Washington. Eddy Curry is a waste of life. Wilcox will probably be gone although hes our best shotblocker and a big energy boost. Q is already on a downward spiral.

What slashers are you talking about? Nate is gone and Chandler is the only one left. We have shooters in Gallinari, Q and Harrington likes to throw up 3's. Stephen Curry is a 2 that will be manhandled by even DJ Augustin. Curry will be the next Jamal Crawford, given a green light to chuck up 3's at halfcourt. Hes slow for a combo guard and a 13 year old kid could back him down. He is a bench player used for instant offense. Not the future of the ailing knicks.

Wall, Favors, and Aminu

Wall, Favors, and Aminu could be the best trio since James, Wade, Melo. Plus somebody that not on our radar will pop up as they do every year.

doesn't seem so bad. Jennings, Harden, Rubio, Griffin, Flynn, Maynor, Williams can all be stars and some others, but people just think they won't be. Who knows how good they can be? Just have to find out.

I only see Griffin, maybe

I only see Griffin, maybe Jennings and Rubio being stars. You hit my sleeper. I think Williams might be the best player in this draft. I see him as kind of a Danny Granger but even more complete than he was coming out. I'd really like to see the knicks get him. Ideally the knicks could trade into 2010 draft but I wouldnt mind seeing them trade 8 to Chicago for #16 and 26. We could possibly get any 2 of; Holiday, Johnson, Mullens, and T-Will. I would be excited about that.

I doubt...

I doubt you've had the opportunity to see Stephen play, but he is much quicker than given credit for. I don't see why he couldn't become a Mo Williams type player, especially if LeBron comes to NYK. Seriously though, he's much more athletic than given credit for, you guys act like he is the second coming of Greg Paulus.

Greg Paulus doesnt weigh 110

Greg Paulus doesnt weigh 110 lbs. My grandmother could back him down. He is no threat going to the hoop. He cant defend the 2 or even the faster or stronger points who is everyone in the league. In this system you need a facilitater like Nash, Kidd, Miller, Rondo, etc.

Does...

everyone have to bring up Greg Paulas now? Who cares about College Football? :)
Look, Curry is just the second coming of Reddick, but he'll recieve more of a chance and may prove something. Williams is a sleeper, I love his game. His game reminds me of a poor man's LeBron. Not a great shot, but everything else is pretty solid. Holiday is one of my favorite college players. I can see him becoming a Star. He's smart to come out now since it is called a "weak draft" and if he stays his "Upside" isn't as high because it's another year unless he were to shine.

rocketfan you think Holiday

rocketfan you think Holiday could have carried his team like Curry??? Curry and Reddick are two diffrent players, Curry is very crafty off the dribble and he is a underrated playmaker....

There is no comparison

There is no comparison between Curry and Redick. Curry had the ball in his hands at all times, he's going to be a very good PG. How many PGs are posting up nowadays anyway?

You can thanks Isiah Thomas for giving ip our pick next year; WORST GM IN SPORTS HISTORY.
