DanEboyParticipantWho were the biggest disappointments of the regular season? Or if you wanted to do playoffs.
Who are your starting 5?
PG-
SG-
SF
PF-
C-0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 2:41pm #325022
The8thDeadlySinParticipantPG – CP3 – I know its an injury but anytime the greatest PG sets out almost the entire year, it sux.
SG – AI – Another great that was just awful this year.. Poor Iverson.. I feel bad for him..
SF – Lebron – This guy has pissed me off all year long…
PF – Anthony Randolph – After summer league, I was excited.. Another victim of injury..
C – Greg Oden – Gosh.. Can he play at least half the season next year?? Injury…0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 2:56pm #325035
bkballerParticipantThe starting 5 for the New Jersey Nets
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 3:00pm #325039
WizardofOzParticipantPG – Jose Calderon – Once Jarret Jack came in, Calderon’s minutes and statistics plummeted, and he was never able to be the player he once was.
SG – Ben Gordon – His averages went way down from last year, his minutes plummeted, and he was signed to a big contract which makes it even worse.
SF – Hedo Turkoglu – Turkoglu was in poor physical condition all season and never seemed to have the focus and killer instinct that made him a borderline All-Star in Orlando for five seasons. It was his worst statistical season since before joining Orlando.
PF – Elton Brand – Watching him, you can see he lacks the confidence and power he once had, and it is pretty doubtful at this point that it will ever return. He also is not a good fit in the Princeton offense.
C – Andris biedrins – His season was a disappointment, as Nellie just didn’t give him the minutes needed to produce at the level we expected going into the year. I don’t blame Biedrins as much as the other players on the all-disappointment team, because i was mostly Nellie’s fault.0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 3:06pm #325041
IknoBall12ParticipantPG- Chauncey Billups and Mo Williams- Both players were supposed to make a bigger impact and get their team a step closer to a ring. Billups performed subpar in the playoffs and once again Mo williams didnt come thru despite having more help than the year before.
SG- Tracy McGrady- He said he would have a breakout year and he said he was injury free…..still didnt get past the 1st round tho did he?
SF- Hedo Turkoglu- I mean i kno i cant be alone on this. He left a good situation in orlando(in my opinion) and went to a team that could have been pretty good had hedo shown up playing th eway he did in orlando. I kno toronto is wishing they could have done this deal over. I kno lebron was a bit of a dissapointment too but it his failure isnt as bad as hedos
PF- Blake Griffin- Really wanted to see wat this guy would do his 1st year in the L but injury kept him from showing up at all.
C- Greg Oden- i agree with the guy above. I mean cmon greg is this gonna be an issue for the next few years?0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 3:21pm #325051
RickyRubio9ParticipantPG- Tony Parker, I thought he’d be the Leader of Spurs & possibly MVP canditate believe it or not.
SG- Vince Carter, c’mon VC…you did diddly squat man. Very disappointed in you. That’s just me though.
SF – Hedo…my gawd, who could’ve saw it going this bad?
PF- Lamarcus Aldridge, every year I think he’s ready to make the step, but he doesn’t.
C- Emeka Okafor..I really felt he’d get around 16-18 Points, 10+ boards, and 2 blocks, I know he missed CP3 but he seemed worse in NO then he did in Charlotte.0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 3:32pm #325058
cumoneileen8ParticipantGILBERT ARENAS – Need I say more?
BEN GORDON – New contract, new team, new start, and saw nothing out of him…
HEDO – Big new contract, play for a worse team than the one last year and yet his numbers sag and he’s whining about being there now.
JAMISON – He was putting up great numbers and looked like he’d be the last piece to make cleveland way too good for anyone else. Instead, he made little difference and played very soft in the playoffs.
SHAQ – I never really believed he would make that much of a difference, but he’s another addition that was supposed to make cleveland unbeatable but his production was far from remarkable0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 3:36pm #325062
cumoneileen8ParticipantGood call RickyRubio9…don’t know how I forgot about Lamarcus after being so angry with him after the playoffs.
Being a Blazers fan, every year I hear him say how he wants to be an all star, then he does nothing to earn it, plays soft, and then when the time to shine comes and Roy is out, he makes no real attempt to step up and says outright he isn’t going to change how he plays. It just seems like he expects the improvement to just suddenly happen without working for it.

micheal redd-just about done
josh howard-damaged goods
brand-cmon son
eddy curry-……..0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 3:47pm #325069
GlenTaylorSucksParticipantI’m not gonna count anybody with injuries- I’m going strictly based on “production”…umm…lack thereof:
PG: Gilbert Arenas. I will be shocked if he isn’t traded or bought out by at least next year. What a stupid man. Hahaha, Honorable mention: Mo Williams.
SG: Ben Gordon. Ordinarily I would say Carter, but he helped the Magic get to the conference finals, even if he did have an epic choke job. Gordon was supposed to step in and be a key player on the Pistons, but now he’s just an undersized chucker who never met a shot he didn’t like. Honorable mention: VC
SF: Hedo Turkoglu. Complete disaster, from not wanting to be there, from pictures emerging of him stuffing his face with pizza before games…sucks for the Raps that they’re gonna be tied down with his outrageous contract for the next 4 years. Honorable Mention: Lamar Odom
PF: Michael Beasley. Seriously, this kid should be dominating. Get him some counseling, give him some good role models/great teammates, anything to make him less of a head case. He has the potential to be a better version of Carmelo. I think he needs to be somewhere that doesn’t have great night life and with good character, then he’ll get a lot better. Honorable mention: Elton Brand
C: Shaq. Get the king a ring, my ass. All you proved was that you’re washed up, still act like a baby (see his feud with Dwight Howard), and you’re too big-headed for your own damn good. You had a great career, hang it up and wait for the Hall to call you. Honorable mention: Mehmet Okur0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 3:49pm #325070
ThaMatrixParticipantPG- Gilbert Arenas
SG- Vince Carter
SF- Hedo Turkoglu
PF- Blake Griffin
C- Greg Oden0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 4:09pm #325079
llperezpg-gilbert arenas. How can you not include this guy, i mean he was supposed to have a comeback year and instead caused the whole team to explode
sg-iverson. Sucks to have it come to an end like this.
sf-richard jefferson. Just didnt do what he had been doing for the last 6-7 yuears and was unable to be the missing piece for the spurs. He wasnt even close.
pf-michael beasley. Just dont see him as a building block and i think miami is probably feeling the same way.
c-greg oden. I tried to stay away from guys with injuries, but this has been a disasterous start to his career.

NathanStaceyParticipantPlease stop including players on lists like these that got injured (or even died like people saying len bias never realized his potential). That is not their fault, not fair to them, and a cop out to include them.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 4:45pm #325104
The8thDeadlySinParticipantIMO, an injury is very disappointing… If this is the all disappointment team, then I am going to include players that were hurt because, their injury was disappointing…..
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 4:52pm #325106
NathanStaceyParticipantJust make it the 09 10 all injury team then. That’ll be fun to debate. Talk about the players that actually played and disappointed you with their play, not something they can’t control.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantDid you make the thread?? I mean reread what it said.. “Who were the biggest disappointment of the regular season?” Nothing about playing…

Michael.S.ParticipantPG- Iverson- at least he finished w/ the Sixers. He was my first favorite player. Damn
SG- T-Mac- proved his knee couldn’t hold up…I was expecting a strong comeback and I was watching a star who is now a shell of his former self.
SF- LeBron- expecting that chip…gotta win one for Cleveland man, you do that and you are an instant legend for life…its not too late ,resign
PF- Griffin- 1 preseason game and then poof.
C- Shaq- Expecting him to be more productive. Shaq has started his rapid decline.0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 4:58pm #325111
Mr.BigShotParticipantPG- Gilbert Arenas
SG- Ben Gordon
SF- Lebron James- this was supposed to be his year, but he missed his shot.
PF- Micheal Beasley
C- Shaq- Was supposed to “Get a ring,for the King”0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 5:16pm #325117
Pacers_Fan33ParticipantI dont think we should take injuries into consideration
PG – TJ Ford, every year he begins with the most minutes and he has the reigns at the point, but falls off the horse before All-Star Weekend
SG – Ben Gordon, big contract + underperforming = Disappointment
SF – Hedo Turkoglu, self-explanatory
PF – Elton Brand, (see Ben Gordon)
C – Emeka Okafor, just gets less and less productive0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 5:51pm #325134
bkb77ParticipantPG- A.I- Damn I grew up idolizing iverson he was my hero & now 2 see his life come down 2 this it just sucks.
SG Ben Gordon- he got paid & didnt do sh*t every since he cash that check.
SF-Hedo- outside of the new trade demads have u heard anything bout him this year?
PF- Blake Griffen- he was supose to be the next big thing & i dont even no if he played more than 5 games
C- Greg Oden- wow how pissed must the blazer be every time they even hear the name Kevin Durant.Honorable mention(the netssixers&pistons)

bkballerParticipantREALLY LEBRON WINS ONE AND IS A LEGEND IN CLEVELAND?
biggest mistake Lebron can make is resign….that team peaked this year and he will NEVER win in Cleveland. He will go down as a Karl Malone type of player and will be forgotten if he remains in that @#$%whole. Time to find a big city that can actually get real talent around him and help him win several rings, not try to squeeze one out in the most pathetic city in America.

Counting StarsParticipantPG: Jose Calderon – Not living up to that contract
SG: Ben Gordon – Maybe he should have stayed either in Chicago or on the bench
SF: Richard Jefferson – I honestly thought the Spurs would be dominant this year
PF: Yi Jianlian – .403% field goals and pretty makes the team for playing for the Nets
C: Andrew Bynum – Hasn’t developed the maturity to play to his ability night in and night out0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 8:05pm #325223

NathanStaceyParticipantThat’s just really lame to list players who were not even on the active team roster and therefore not even playing. Do you think Nate McMillan is going over to Greg Oden everyday and saying, “Gosh, Greg. I’m so disappointed in you that your knees aren’t healthy.”?
By your logic, why not give Chris Paul a spot on the All NBA Team this year? He’s one of the top 3 point guards in the NBA, right?

IndianaBasketballParticipantThere are different kinds of disappointment. The type of disappointment when someone got paid and didn’t show up, didn’t work hard, etc. That’s the pitaful/disgraceful disappointment. Then there’s the type of disappointment when you did work hard and did everything asked, but just didn’t get the results that you wanted. This is more of the feeling bummed type of disappointement.
Gilbert Arenas/Mo Williams/TJ Ford – Arenas brought guns into the arena and hurt the image of not only the Wizards, but the entire NBA. Williams didn’t show up in the playoffs for the 2nd consecutive season in a row. Ford was handed the keys to the Pacers and didn’t even start the car. All of these players qualify under the pitaful type of disappointment.
Ben Gordon/Vince Carter – Gordon signed a big contract and was irrellivant all season. Carter was brought to Orlando to be that superstar caliber go-to player at the end of games… Didn’t happen. Same old VC. Pitaful disappointment.
Hedo Turkoglu/Richard Jefferson/LeBron James – Turkoglu signed a huge contract and then didn’t show up. Jefferson was supposed to be the athletic wing that got San Antonio over the hump, but he was passive all season. LeBron is supposed to be the NBA’s great one, but allowed his upcoming free-agency to hang over his team like a dark cloud for the entire first half of the season. He then played passive and lacked aggressiveness during the playoffs. They didn’t even make it to the NBA Finals. Pitaful disappointment.
Blake Griffin – He lost his entire rookie season due to injury. It was disappointing for him more than anybody else, though it wasn’t his fault. There was a lot of excitement and buzz in LA after they won the lottery… All of that died along with Griffin’s injury. They were actually talking playoffs before the injury. This is the bummed type of disappointment.
Greg Oden/Shaquille O’Neal – Oden did everything he was asked this past summer and busted his ass to get healthy. Right as he was showing some dominance, he breaks his kneecap in half. Yes… You have to be crazy to think he isn’t disappointed. It’s not his fault and the organization/fans know that, but it’s disappointing. The bummed kind. Shaq was supposed to be the “Great Witness Protection”. Instead, he allowed the real LeBron to be kidnapped. Pitaful.

Exactly. You shouldn’t be disappointed in someone because they got injured.

StF616ParticipantPG-Chris Paul – Injuries , I thought would lead NOH to the playoffs
SG-Allen Iverson – Thought he would do pretty good, retired for like one hour then went back to 76ers, and quitted
SF – Anthony Randolph – Expected him to average 15&8.. I HATE don nelson
PF-Blake Griffin – I’m jUst Disappointed to not see him play
C-Greg Oden – I really thought he would be an all-star this year, and he was doing pretty well
11.1ppg 8.5rpg and 2.3bpg in only 23.9minutes, but still had trouble w/ foul trouble
I’m a rockets fan, and when i saw his injury this season against the rockets.. It Broke my Heart0 - AuthorPosts
