Flash Gordon

Player of the Week

Aaron Gordon, Arizona

Aaron GordonAaron GordonThe freshman has become a more productive all around player for the Wildcats as the conference season comes to an end. He has found ways to contribute on offense by setting screens and spacing the floor even if he’s not scoring much. The forward also plays outstanding defense, turning opponents away constantly and making it hard to score in the paint against him.

Mr. Versatility

Player of the Week

Kyle Anderson, UCLA

Kyle AndersonKyle AndersonThe offensive engine for the Bruins continues to stay red hot deep into the conference schedule. Anderson sets the tone on offense by keeping the game at a slow pace with the ball in his hands and his size as a 6-9 point guard gives him such an advantage on both ends of the floor. His ability to set up the offense smoothly and create plays may be second to none in the Pac-12.

Big Shot Cobbs

Player of the Week

Justin Cobbs, California

Justin CobbsJustin CobbsCobbs’ sense of urgency in big games was on display in the Golden Bears victory over #1 ranked Arizona. Time and time again throughout the game he came up with big plays on both ends of the floor when the team needed him most. He’s a playmaker late in the game every time he’s on floor, especially in crunch time when someone needs to step up and take a game winning shot.

Mr. Anderson

Player of the Week

Kyle Anderson, UCLA

Kyle AndersonKyle AndersonThe sophomore is basically a walking double-double. Of the Bruins 20 games this season he has recorded a double-double in 11 of them, also sprinkling in a triple-double on November 22. He’s almost a sure bet to get one each game, if not come as close as possible by being a rebound or an assist shy. His 11 double-doubles are the most on his team and in the Pac-12 this season.

All the Wright Moves

Askia Book It

Player of the Week

Askia Booker, Colorado

Askia BookerAskia BookerBooker has stepped up his play and has been contributing a lot to the Buffs’ offense over the last couple of games. He continues to show up in big games and shows his confidence to take the big shot when the game is on the line. His early season shooting slump appears to be a thing of the past.
