Here is a look at the first update of the big board. I will try to update this Top 100 list at the beginning of each month.

This prospect list is based on every player coming out for this year’s NBA draft. This list is not necessarily a projection of where they would be drafted, but where I see their value currently going into the 2011 draft. The projections are based on scouting numerous games and talking to a handful of NBA scouts.

Aran Smith’s 2011 Big Board: Top 100 Prospects

Perry Jones takes over the top spot as he and Harrison Barnes traded places (1 and 3) while Duke PG Kyrie Irving held strong at #2.

Other big risers included: Tyler Honeycutt (forgotten on first big board post before the season), Jordan Hamilton, Tobias Harris, Kawhi Leonard, Marcus Morris, Markief Morris, Demitri McCamey, Mason Plumlee, Joffrey Lauvergne, Shelvin Mack, Kenneth Faried, Jereme Richmond, Khris Middleton, Jon Leuer, Doron Lamb, Draymond Green, and Talib Zanna.

Falling hard were: Fab Melo (out), Rodney Williams, Greg Smith, William Buford, John Henson, Jeffery Taylor, and Wally Judge

  1. Jimmer

Jimmer Fredette should be at the top of the list. He keeps getting better and has proven to be National Player of the year to this point. He has already outplayed Honeycutt and Williams who are ahead of him on this list. Jimmer Fredette is the best player in College hoops and keeps getting better. Not only can he score but his basketball intelligence is off the charts. Have you ever seen him play in person. People say he is not athletic, the guy is super fast, his first step in blazing and his cross over dribble is insane, his release is blistering fast and he can and easily gets a shot off because of his jumping ability and quick release. I don’t think his jump shot has ever been blocked. Not only can he easily get above most defenders to release a shot but he can play above the rim and has several dunks this year. His assists are climbing and he is able to break down teams as games go on. There is so much attention on him and he still the best player on whatever court he is on. He has had a few slow starts but then he adjusts and it’s over. Jimmer 30 opponent 0! Jimmer Fredette is the best player in College hoops! I would like to see his profile updated to the athlete he is now and can’t wait to see where he is on the top 100 prospects list since Dec 8th based on his play the last few weeks. Jimmer’s best in yet to come! Please get it right! No one in America at the DI level is as good as Jimmer Fredette is right now! and……….. he should be in the top 10 for the mock 2011 draft. Kemba is scoring a lot of baskets but let’s see where the 2 compare in March. Jimmer is more consistent, his %’s will climb and more of a team player! He already averages more assists and has a better FT%, come March his FG% and 3pt% will be above Kembas as well!
