The 2013 power forward crop is saturated with diverse prospects, ranging from athletic specimens to face up threats to defensive wizards to floor spacers. There are a handful of potential position “tweeners” in the group, but for classification purposes we had to take a stand on their most practical usage at the next level. Even with Dario Saric withdrawing from the proceedings, four power forwards could be off the board in the top ten with an optimal number of seven potentially cracking the first round.
With less than 10 days before the draft, here is our 6th take on an extended mock in a draft shrouded in uncertainty.
1. Alex Len - Len is one of the more intriguing prospects in this draft. He has the potential and upside to be a top three pick but an injury has kept him from working out in front of scouts at the combine as well as in some individual workouts. At just 19 years of age (20 this week), Len still has plenty of room to grow and mature physically. At 7'1 he has the prototypical size for the center position in the NBA. The second day of the 2013 adidas Eurocamp confirmed a level of disappointment among scouts related to the lack of high profile draft prospects that were expected to participate. But ultimately the event has revealed some prospects deserving of second round after the headliner Lucas Nogueria was limited to just one day.
With Dario Saric pulling his name out and after having had a look at Europe's version of the draft combine, the adidas Eurocamp, here is our 5th take on how we see the draft shaping up less than 3 weeks before draft night.
2013 Eurocamp Day 1
The annual adidas Eurocamp began on Saturday in Treviso, Italy with numerous NBA GMs and international scouts in attendance, once again. This is the 11th year the event has taken place here in Treviso and the 8th time that I have covered it. It remains one of the absolute can't miss events from an NBA draft scouting perspective.
