NBA Draft, Prospect Analysis: By the Numbers

Tue, 06/25/2013 - 1:01am

When freshmen play like freshmen, and big men are not that big, there is a good chance the perception of a draft is going to be weak. The perceived weakness does not mean that the draft lacks NBA caliber players, or even players with star potential, but it does mean that the draft lacks young players who showed themselves to be on an accelerated developmental track as well as the valuable, rare, and elusive talented true center. This is the backdrop of the 2013 Draft.

Top 10 Shooting Guard Prospects

Mon, 06/24/2013 - 3:13pm

1. Ben McLemore - Rumors of McLemore's stand out athletic ability began to swirl as soon as Mac hit KU's campus and he showed flashes of brilliance during his single season of play. McLemore has a very intriguing combination of picture perfect shooting mechanics along with elite level athleticism. Top 10 Small Forward Prospects

Sun, 06/23/2013 - 5:23pm

1. Otto Porter - Georgetown - Whereas most of the top prospects in this draft have boom or bust potential/talent, Porter is a guy who carries with him the smallest amount of risk when comparing him to any other lottery pick in this year's draft. If Cleveland were to pick based purely on need then Porter would be the first pick in the draft hands down but considering he lacks the flash and/or freakish athleticism and upside that most top picks have, he isn't getting as hard of a look. Porter is a guy who doesn't have to have the ball in his hands to be successful.
