As the final hours of 2009 come upon us, NBADraft.net has taken to listing off the best picks of the past decade. The list is based on the value a player provided at his given pick spot in the draft. For instance, an All-Star picked 15th is more common than a starter picked 50th.

Avery BradleyAfter a slow start, Texas' blue chip recruit has begun to show why some had him rated as the #1 recruit in the nation (over John Wall).
While Bradley isn't in Wall's class as an NBA prospect, he's quickly proving that he belongs in the next handful of players and will likely be considered as a top 10 pick this year.

At this point in the college basketball season you can throw out the pre-season hype and look at what these teams have done on the floor. Right now it looks like the top nine teams in the Power 16 are legitimate Final Four contenders but the top five are National Championship caliber. Ole Miss, Kansas State and New Mexico have played their way into our Power 16, but it will be interesting to see how they fare during the grind of conference play.

And with such a shallow pool of talent following likely #1 pick John Wall at the point guard position, Johnson could potentially look to leave this year and find a spot in the first round.

Through the first five weeks of the season there appears to be separation between the top 13 teams and everyone else. This has been evident in our Power 16 Rankings as teams 14-21 have changed weekly. Meanwhile, Kentucky and Syracuse further established positions in our top five with big wins last week. Texas gets an opportunity to make a statement this week with a huge match up against North Carolina in Cowboy Stadium.
