Euroleague Stock Watch: Top 16 Round, Week 6

Just a handful of youngsters have made it into the next stage (Top 16) of Euroleague competition. We will continue to take a look at those who did with their respective teams, in our weekly report.

April 9-12 - Portsmouth Invitational Tournament - Portsmouth, Virginia
April 16 - Regular season ends
April 17 - Playoff rosters set
April 19 - Playoffs begin
April 27 - Early-entry eligiblity deadline
May 27-30 - NBA Predraft Camp - Orlando, Florida
May 20 - NBA Draft Lottery
June 5 - 2008 NBA Finals start date (possible move-up to June 3)
June 7-10 - Reebok Eurocamp - Treviso, Italy
June 16 - Early-entry withdrawal deadline
June 19 - NBA Finals latest possible end date

2008 McDonald's Game Evaluations

On paper, the rosters did not look even. The West's top five players all could have been argued to be more talented than the East's best player. However, the East was not the least in the 2008 McDonald's All-American game. The game was a relatively low-scoring affair (for an all-star game); as the East won, 107-102.

We now turn our attention to the Midwest Region, which could also be identified as the battle ground of David and Goliath. Consider this, before the start of this tournament, both Kansas and Wisconsin had more Final Four appearances this decade than Davidson had total tournament wins. But as the classic cliché states…. that was then, this is now. With that said, let’s delve into the indispensable pieces of the Midwest.
