Strengths: An explosive scorer, and a natural born leader ... A blur in the open court ... Very difficult to guard one-on-one because of a deadly first step ... A crafty ball handler who attacks the rim at any given chance ... Converts high degree of difficulty shots on a regular basis ... Included in his repertoire is a floater that he uses to perfection to score over post players on drives to the basket ... Can singlehandedly score at will as he showed against highly ranked North Carolina putting up 34 of his career-high 46 points in the first half, 23 of which coming in first 7 minutes ... He's "conscience-less" ... Averages a decent amount of assists at 5.1/gm, but certainly his forte is scoring ... Solid at penetrating and dishing to open teammates ... Terrific free-throw shooter at 85% ... Rice is a tremendous leader who has taken many of his younger BC teammates under his wing ... Thrives in taking the team on his shoulders and carrying them in close games ... Has gained solid experience playing in a tough ACC conference ... Plays with high amount of energy and keeps defenses honest with his relentless attacking ... Wasn't highly recruited nor a top 100 prospect out of high school but like many BC players before him (Craig Smith, Jared Dudley etc), through hard work has become a legit NBA prospect ... Has put on 20+ pounds since High School and has gained the necessary strength to guard bigger players ... His body type is deceptive as he is more agile and athletic than he appears ...

Weaknesses: Lacks ideal PG size. At 6-0, he is somewhat of a liability on defense ... Needs to make defense a higher priority ... Can sometimes force plays that aren't there ... A better scorer than shooter. Doesn't shoot a great percentage from three-point (35%), solid jump shot and range but would benefit to learn how to pick his spots better. Despite the aforementioned uncanny ability to hit difficult shots, his percentage from behind the arc would greatly benefit by improving his shot selection ... Improving his 3p% would certainly enhance his draft status ... Needs to improve on pure point guard skills to maximize his potential ... Has shown he can score on anyone but needs to prove he can run an offense more proficiently (granted defenses key on him and many of his teammates are young and below average by ACC standards) ... If he's able to balance both scoring and point guard duties he has a chance of becoming a special player ... Must cut down on turnovers, can at times over dribble the ball ...
