NBA Comparison: N/A

Joshua Motenko - 8/11/2007

Strengths: Macvan is a strong, wide-bodied Center who is perfect for European basketball. He has a lot of good skills. As a rebounder he fights hard and uses his body and huge shoulders to box out or seal off his man. He creates a lot of comtact on put backs or when working with the ball in the post, getting himself to the line for free throw opportunities. His shooting ability is probably his biggest weapon as he has the ability to spread the floor with his range and soft touch. He can even hit the step-back three pointer. He has the ability to take the ball off the dribble a little and is a smart passer. Hes a good leader on the floor, and works hard on defense in the post. He is very animated and clearly loves the game. Very advanced at this stage of his career, has the mentality and intelligence of an older player, and makes those around him better, a real winner.

Weaknesses. He lacks any real athleticism, and though his strength makes him a potent force in the paint, he isnt an NBA prospect. He has a tendency to get frustrated easily, and sometimes that takes him out of his game. He also doesnt really have the body control to hit shots after contact, despite his size. Hes not a shot blocking presence at all, and has a few nice back to the basket moves, but could stand to improve on his game in the post. His bulk and size is a huge advantage against players his own age. He is a nice player, however he has an extremely high understanding of team basketball, which will take him far in the future. But he's got next to no potential left to develop making the NBA out of reach.
