Wing player V.J. King of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, - LeBron James' alma matter - received a UK offer Saturday night, according to USA Today's Jason Jordan.

King is rated the nation's No. 14 rising junior by Rivals.com. He already had offers from Ohio State, Indiana and North Carolina State are among his many other offers.

King has been in Colorado Springs this weekend trying out for the U.S. U17 World Championships team, and UK coach John Calipari presumably watched him there. On Saturday, King was named one of 17 finalists to make the 12-man team. Other UK targets who made the cut were from 2015, Malik Newman, Henry Ellenson, Caleb Swanigan, Diamond Stone and Ivan Rabb and from 2016, Harry Giles, Derryck Thornton, Jayson Tatum and Tyus Battle.
