THE BASICS

Athletic achievement: He had led the Minutemen to a 22-8 record and a berth in the CIF Division IV Southern California regional semifinals at the time of his selection. A 2015 Jordan Brand Classic game invitee and ranked as the nation’s No. 38 recruit in the Class of 2015 by ESPN, Dorsey averaged 34.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game while shooting 65 percent from inside the arc through 30 games. He scored a career-high 52 points on 14-for-19 shooting in an 85-60 win over Chaminade in the regional quarterfinals.

Academic excellence: Dorsey has maintained a 3.12 GPA.

Exemplary character: He has volunteered locally on behalf of an assisted living facility and has participated in multiple school-sponsored mission trips.

“Tyler Dorsey is an incredible scorer,” said Bryan Branderhorst, head coach at Valley Christian High. “He has deep range, a great post game and he’s a driver and a finisher who knows how to get to the free throw line. One of the most accomplished and efficient high school scorers I’ve ever coached against.”

THE FUTURE: Dorsey has signed with Oregon.
