USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the American Family Insurance ALL-USA North Carolina Boys Basketball Team. Players were selected based on their athletic achievements from the 2014-15 season.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Freddy Johnson, Greensboro Day (Greensboro)
Johnson guided Greensboro Day to a 33-2 record and the independent schools Class 3A state championship, the Bengals’ first title since 2006. They had finished second five times since, including each of the previous three seasons. Johnson, in his 38th season at the private school, earned his 900th career victory in November and is the state’s all-time wins leader, with 930. Greensboro Day was No. 17 in the final Super 25 rankings and was invited to play in the DICK’S Sporting Goods High School Nationals.

Player of the Year
Harry Giles III, F, Wesleyan Christian (High Point), 6-10/230, Jr.
Giles, ranked the top power forward in the nation by ESPN, returned from a severe knee injury that sidelined him all last season to average 23 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks while shooting 67 percent from the field. He helped Wesleyan to a 27-5 record and runner-up finish in the independent schools Class 3-A state tournament. Giles was named a Naismith third-team All-American. He has narrowed his college choices to Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Ohio State and UNLV.
