2014-15 ALL-USA Montana Boys Basketball Team

USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Montana Boys Basketball Team. Players were selected based on their athletic achievements from the 2014-15 season.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Kyle Paulson, Belt
Paul serves as principal at his school as well as head boys basketball coach and guided the Huskies to a 23-0 season. The Class C state title was Belt’s third overall and first since 1995. The team lost a starter and its sixth man to football injuries before the start of the season and still finished as one of the state’s two unbeatens.

FIRST TEAM

Player of the Year
Tres Tinkle, F, Hellgate (Missoula), 6-7/215, Sr.
The 6-7, 215-pound swing man couldn’t deliver the Class 2A state title, but he did complete a stellar 23-2 senior season by leading the state in scoring with 24.8 points per game. He also finished second in rebounding (10.7) and steals (2.1), shot 36 percent from three-point range and averaged 2.2 assists a game. Selected as the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year twice, including as a senior, Tinkle will head to Oregon State, where his father, Wayne, is an assistant coach. His 1,544 career points at Hellgate is a school record.
