College

During the 2011 adidas nations we were able to get some footage of the collegiate counselors.  While we have a good sample of the games we only recorded at best 1/3 of the games played.  Thus we don’t have any footage of Miles Plumlee, Jalen Kendrick, and Adonis Thomas although they participated and played during the camp.  To get a more in depth report and analysis of the college counselors performances please read our 2011 adidas Nations: College Recap article.  Below are our videos in order that we recorded them but not the actual order of games themselves given that 2 games were played simultaneously.

  1. Watched the game 2 clip, and

Watched the game 2 clip, and noticed a few things. Jared Sullinger is looking very slow, particularly on defensive rotations, I can see him being a liability against PFs in the NBA unless he develops his quickness over the next year.

Perry Jones showed flashes of brilliance, but he’s no SF, more of a versatile PF, and I get the feeling he’d be very successful as a complementary player to a star ala Pau Gasol-Kobe Bryant relationship.

Barton definitely needs to bulk up, as players were jumping on the chance to back him down whenever he was defending them. I don’t see him as a PG either as he made some bad turnovers and doesn’t seem that confident in his dribble, he’s definitely a 2-guard at the next level, and needs to adjust his frame to suit.

Overally, I wasn’t very impressed with the finishing ability of many players in this game, a lot of them have a long way to go towards being NBA calibre players.
